2x+5 be the length.

2x+2(2x+5)=70
2x+4x+10=70
6x=60
x=10

∴the width of the rectangle is 10cm
the length of the rectangle is 2(10)+5=25cm

但當你計條數果陣,
你會發現

2x+2(2x+10)=70
2x+4x+20)=70
6x+20=70
6x=50
x=8.3333333333
答案同你所指的是否有些出入？﹗

6x+10=70
6x=60

length=2x+5
=2(10)+5
=25 cm

001,既然你已經設x cm be the width,咁length就唔係 2(x+5) be the length,係計出來的
姐係應該寫成
let x cm be the width.
length =2(x+5)

002,條題目我理解為,length既長度係width既2部再加5,所以如果width係y,咁length 就係2y+5
計落去都無錯:
[y+(2y+5)]*2=70
y=10
所以width =10 (cm),length =25(cm)

(10+25)*2=35*2=70(cm)

Let the width be y cm and the length be (y+5) cm.
2y+2(y+5)=70 / 2﹝y+(y+5)﹞=70
2y+2y+10=70
4y=70 -- 10
y=60 / 4
y=15
Therefore the width and the length of the rectangle are 15 cm and 15+5=20 cm if the perimeter of the rectangle is 70cm.

上面計錯咗呀，括號裡面應該是x+5(佢設咗x我設咗y)，因為題目話長比闊多5 cm，咁設咗闊為x，之後闊加返五咪等於長，即是x+5囉，所以括號裡面的x唔洗乘二。

唔明可以驗證下我個答案：
周界=2乘長+2乘闊 或 2(長+闊)
即是2(20)+2(15) 或 2(20+15)
答案是70
所以the width and the length of the rectangle are 15 cm and 15+5=20 cm if the perimeter of the rectangle is 70cm.
