The length of a rectangle is 3 times its width,and its perimeter is 24cm.Find the area of the rectangle.(just set up the equation no need the answer.)

Let n be the width of the rectangle.Length of the rectangle = 3n
Perimeter = 2(n+3n)=24
n=3
Width=3cm
Length=9cm
Therefore, Area = 3x9 =__

2(3x+x)=24
4x=12
x=3
So, the length of the rectangle is 3x3=9cm, the width is 3cm
Thus, the area of the rectangle is 9x3=27 cm sqaure
