In this essay, I will not mention the details what I have learnt and what I have done during this training. On the contrary, I will focus on my feeling after completed this training. Certainly, I would like to say thanks to Mr. Chan and Mr. Lam for their effort to teach us and share their experience at sea during training period. Although two weeks training is not a long period to teach us lots of thing, I could completely feel their passion for teaching all their knowledge to us. Moreover, they also remind us that the correct attitude should have to become a seafarer. This is the most important thing for the engine cadet officer as they haven’t any idea to work at ship before. For me, I have adjusted my attitude once I made a decision to entry this career. I was well prepared since three years ago when I study Yr. 1 in Maritime School. So this is not a matter for me. Honestly speaking, the training not only gave me a chance to practice what I have learnt from the Institute, it’s also widen my horizon especially joining the tug boat operation, visit the dock yard and familiarize the engine room of the sea going vessel to recognize the daily operation of the engine officer. In my opinion, this is the most valuable part in the training because this can help us to understand how the other department operating and their working procedure. All of these knowledge is cannot read on the book. Finally, I am so glad that I can become a member of CCo. Through this training, I can feel that CCo not just treated us as an employee or an ordinary officer. Compare to other company CCo really want to train us to become a future Master, helping us to develop a path to success. Until now, CCo not make me disappointed and I hope I will not make CCo disappointed in the future. I could not promise that I will become a master or a mate officer in a designated time, but at least I can promise I will put all my effort to become a competence seafarer in my future.
