In this essay, I will not mention the details of what I have learnt and what I have done during this training. On the contrary, I will focus on my feelings. Certainly, I would like to say thanks to Mr. Chan and Mr. Lam for their effort in teaching us and sharing their experiences at sea. Although two-week-training is not a long period to teach us lots of things, I could completely feel their passion for teaching all their knowledge to us. Moreover, they always reminded us the correct attitude that we should have to become a seafarer. It was the most important thing for engine cadet officer as they haven’t never had any idea on working at ship before. For me, I have adjusted my attitude once I have made the decision to entry this career. I was well-prepared since three years ago when I study Yr. 1 in Maritime School. (So this is not a matter for me.????) (I do understand wt u wanted to say, but it seems to be weird in an english essay) To be honest, the training not only gave me a chance to practice what I have learnt from the Institute, it also widened my horizon, especially joining the tug boat operation, visiting the dock yard, familiarizing the engine room of the sea and going vessel to recognize the daily operation of the engine officer. In my opinion, this was the most valuable part in the training as this could help us to understand how the other departments operate and their working procedures. I am sure that those knowledge cannot be read on books.
Finally, I am so glad that I can become a member of CCo. Through this training, I can feel that CCo had not just treated us as employees or ordinary officers. Compare to other companies, CCo really wants to train us to become future Masters, helping us to develop a path to success. Until now, CCo had not disappointed me and I hope I will not disappoint CCo in the future.
