Why is the UK too weak to impose law and order on the rioters I mean shouldn't they have declared Martial law by now since they have been totally ineffective at controlling the streets and ensuring peoples safety there. In fact the riots are spreading. I cant help but think any other country in the world would have declared martial law by now why hasn't the UK done this and why are they so weak at dealing with the riots ?

because we de-militarised the police. ordinary officers don't get to carry firearms. they go against yobs with knifes, guns, and blunt weapons with what? a riot shield and a baton? it's a total farce and the army should have been brought in by now - it's spreading across london and to nottingham, birmingham, bristol, liverpool, and no doubt a few more cities tonight. absolute farce.

The government are the problem...not just this one but the previous one. The Human Rights Act gives these scumbags on the street the right to rampage because basically the police do not have the powers to be tough and sort out the problem. The police are not trained to be tough they are just social workers who dare not use force against anyone for fear of being before the disciplinary and being suspended. Thousands of officers are being drafted into London but in my mind it isn't the quantity it's the quality of what they are allowed to do. The Home Sec should hold back on the police and bring in the Army and allow the use of water cannon and guns...in other words ,,get tough with these rioters and looters. This is what we get when we allow Human Rights and mamby pamby left wing do gooders to take over. We must be the laughing stock of the world. I feel sorry for the police who are trapped under the governments red tape and stupid rules and Theresa May should resign.

No, I completely trust you, and that i think of the united kingdom is sturdy to first attempt to apply a diplomatic techniques-set quite than violence. If the diplomatic techniques-set would not paintings they might desire to could deliver interior the militia, yet there are greater valuable the thank you to head approximately getting the hostages back than storming in and perilous. I heard on the information that on the 2nd the united kingdom has stopped all corporation paying for and advertising with Iran and frozen all visa purposes from Iranians, optimistically this style of techniques-set might have some result.

It's no longer called "martial law" but a 'lock down'. Imposing "law and order" in civilian areas hasn't worked in Afghanistan or Iraq by occupying western military forces. And has been criticized when done so in Egypt, Syria, Yemen and elsewhere in the Arab world. When Australia last had civil insurrection or "riots" on its streets, did the police shoot to kill or to quell?
