Pain Tolerance: Does piercing your cartilage hurt more than...?
Okay, I've been kinda scared about getting ear pierced where it's cartilage because I've been questioning my paint tolerance. Well today I was walking into my bedroom when I stepped on my earring, which then got stuck to my foot, when i went to look i had stabbed myself with a dull pointed earring stud which i then took out.

so does piercing your cartilage hurt more than stabbing yourself on your foot with an earring?

Done both and it's two different kinds of pain. One is going through flesh, the other through cartilage. Cartilage stayed sore a lot longer. I've had four different cartilage piercings and they have all varied with pain. Only way to know what you'll experience is by getting it done.

Well I'm now not going to mislead you however for any one with low suffering tolerance who had a rough time along with your lobes, the helix (cartilage) isn't going to be much less painful. To be sincere it's extra painful than the lobes...however it is not terrible. Think of it this manner...if it used to be insufferable do you believe many humans could get it? When utilising a needle the piercer will use clamps that are going to be an uncomfortable feeling, however you're going to be utterly first-rate. I propose pinching your cartilage truly tight for approximately 10 seconds and notice when you might manage that. You are going to believe extra strain and considering that it is cast cartilage and now not gentle like your lobes it's going to believe tight and rough however it is well that you're getting it with a needle considering that a gun can shatter your cartilage so particularly it is not whether or not or now not one hurts greater than the opposite it is extra approximately which one is more secure. It's possible for certain; it's going to be performed and over with earlier than you are aware of it and you will not notice it is there! Good good fortune!

Doesn't Hurt. In my opinion it's similar to getting your lobe pierced, it pinches for a split second

Not sure i use to step on push pins alot from dropping them without knowing but the cartiladge (top of ear) feels like a sharp burn it doesnt hurt for me and then it just burns for a bit.

It hurt actually getting it through, I mean it felt like someone put a hot iron to my ear.
But afterwards it was just fine, a little dull pain.
Then again that's just me. It all varies.

Cartilage is super easy. I have 4 piercings in my cartilage and I could barely tell when the needle went through. Now the piercing itself is super easy but the healing process really sucks. Make sure you get a short bar made of nothing but surgical steel. Sleeping on you ear will irritate the piercing and also getting your hair caught in it will also suck. But if your only worried about the initial pain of the piercing I would definitely say it hurts a lot less than stepping on an earring! And I could safely say that bc I have stepped on an earring as well (and it definitely sucks). I hope this helped you!!!

It will hurt a bit. but remember a piercing is only like 3 seconds. so the needle goes threw and its done. then they put the jewelry in.
hope this helps
