1) In a basketball team of a youth club ,25% of the team are of age twelve ,2/5 of them are of age thirteen and the rest are of age fourteen . what percentage of the team is of age fourteen?
25% aged 12
40% aged 13 (2/5 is the same as 40%, 2/5 x 100% = 40%)
aged 14 = 100% - 25% - 40% = 35%
aged 14 = 35%

2) Francis had $150. He used 20% of the amount to buy ststionery and 34% to buy a toy.

2a) How much did he leave?
2b) If francis saved 50% of the remainder, hoe much did he save?

2a) He leave $140 x (100% - 20% - 34%) = $150 x 64%
= $150 x 36/100 = $150 x 0.36 = $54
He left $54

2b) $54 x 50% = $54 x 50/100 = $54 x 0.5 = $27
He saved $27
