I bought a washing machine and paid it by credit card.
The company added 3% handling charges on it.
I wish to know :-
1. Do they really have to pay 3% to their banker or they take my 3% as part
of their profit.
2. Some company, such as Fortress ; Broadway , do not levy 3%
additional charges, why they can while others cannot ?

Bankers might charge different commission rate to shops/companies subject to their transaction volume. (normally higher the volume > lower the commission rate and the vice versa)You may lodge a complaint to the bank regarding the extra 3% being charged.

Banks and shops have agreement for not charging any surcharge to cardmembers, so the shop violates the agreement therefore you have the right to conplain the shop.

呢啲係行規，信用卡公司都要拆帳，否則由誰人承受你嘅信用，如果商戶講明要收charge，你可以選擇俾現金，或唔買﹗

根據信用卡總會規定,除現金貸款及賭場提取籌碼外,其他交易商戶一律不可以向信用卡客戶收取交易手續費.
如遇商戶要求收手續費,客人有權拒絕支付.當然商戶亦有可能因此而唔做你生意.
