1. - school for advanced education, specially in a particular profession
e.g. teacher training college

2. - a large school where you go after high school and get a degree (US)
e.g. Dartmouth College

3. - part of a university
e.g. Christ College, Cambridge University

4. - name of a high school
e.g. Queen’s College 皇仁書院

5. - an organized group of professional people with special interests, duty and power
e.g. American College of Physicians


Academy (藝術、文學、科學等的)研究院,學會
– an official organization which encourages the development of literature, arts and science
e.g. Royal Academy of Music, U.S. Military Academy

Institute(教育、專業等)機構
- a permanent organizational body created for a certain purpose, especially for research work.
e.g. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
