I guarantee you that 99.999% of gay people's parents were not gay. meaning they did not influence them to be gay. gay just happens.

what do you think sounds worse:

(1) child sits in foster home until age 18 and lives his life without parents, an education, or anybody worth looking up to or trusting because a law prevented foster parents to adopting.

(2) Foster kid gets adopted into a family who loves and takes care of them, provides them an education to build a decent future.

First off: The plural of "Gay" is "gays." "Gay's" means "belonging to (a) gay person.

Second: Just because YOU THINK that gay parents push their kids to become gay doesn't mean that's the truth. Studies prove that the children of gay or lesbian parents are NO MORE LIKELY to be gay than their peer group. The American Psychological Association has determined that same-sex attraction is INNATE--you're either born with it or you are not.

Third: More studies--sorry, I deal in fact, not your fearful projections--OTHER studies show that kids raised by glbt parents -- no unwanted children, remember? -- are in general better-adjusted than their peers raised by mixed-sex couples.

wow talk about ignorance. you can't "influence" anyone into being gay. gay couples adopt children because they want a family and want to give a loving and caring home to needy children. they won't be laughed at in school because schools are starting to teach gay tolerance. they're even supposed to start teaching gay history in california schools.

i grew up with my mom having gay and lesbian friends. she had a lesbian couple as close friends who had two children who were biologicaly one of the lesbian's children. the son isn't gay and the daughter isn't a lesbian. my mom's best friend while i was growing up was a gay man. their influence on me did not magically turn me into a lesbian.

As much as I like the 40s-50s. It isn't that way any more, homosexuality is accepted much more than it used to be. Also, AIDS/HIV is not most common with gay people its straight females, the ones who actually have the kids. Everyone should have equal rights!

What terrifies me the most is you posting this question. You are clueless and need to be educated. Straight people get aids just as much as gay people. You say kids will be made fun of for having gay parents but here is a news flash for you- KIDS GET BULLIED ALL THE TIME even if they do not have gay parents.

My parents are not gay yet my 12 year old little sister gets bullied and made fun of everyday in school and I have to be there to support her and pick up the pieces. If anything you are the one who should not be adopting or having kids at all because you are clueless and you sicken me with your thoughts!!! Get a life and stop telling us gays how to run our lives because we are a proud people who will adopt kids whether you like it or not!

Gay's adopt because they want a child, and can't have one with their partner. The child could be influenced depending on the parents style of parenting, but still there is the thing of free will. Children can be born gay, or choose to be. The child could still want to be straight though. Some gay couples adopt because they can be selfish of their wants.

So, how come gay's have only recently been able to adopt children, yet there have always been gay people being raised by hetrosexual people? Solve that conundrum. O_o *mind blown*
