estimate vs estimation

estimate 是指預算案, 即是預算的結果, 有實際內容或金額.
e.g. The estimate of expenses for this project is $1000.

estimation 是預算這回事, 預算的過程之類.
e.g. We need at least two weeks for site inspection and estimation before submitting tender.

1.estimate==v.t. or i.v.評定;估計(某物的價錢,價值,大小等)
2.estimate==n. 判斷;(大小,價錢大小)估計;
3.estimation==n. 判斷; 評價; 尊敬,尊重;

二者基本上是同詞，分別在於estimate 為可數名詞（countable），estimation 則除為可數名詞外，亦能作不可數名詞用。亦即是說，當採不可數形式時，必須使用estimation而不能用estimate。
