美國/加拿大買手提電腦問題

1.請問在美國還是加拿大買手提電腦(加稅和兌換港幣後)會比較便宜？
You will have to do some research yourself. The computer price varies a lot for what Options you have on the computer such as CPU, RAM, and software licenses included etc. It's hard to compare the price. Usually, computer price is a lot cheaper when they are On-Sale, so it is really hard to compare. Some State may allow you to do tax refund if you are going aboard, or sometime, there is no tax if you shop online.

2.買Dell好還是hp好？(性能、壽命、質素等...)
性能 - Depends on the Options you have on computer more than the brand name.
壽命 - My HP laptop from 2003, all hardware still works. I am re-install from Recovery Disk for a few times as I was using it for hard risk downloads. I do not have a Dell Laptop, but don't have any issues with my Dell Desktop at work. Usually, the computer's 壽命 stays alive long enough until you wish to throw it to garbage because of its outdated system.


3.如果在美國或加拿大買的電腦(Windows 7 Home Premium)可否在第一次開機時選擇中文版Windows？

- I think the language support for Windows 7 requires Windows 7 Ultimate edition. In Premium, the computer can read or type Chinese, but the basic system such as Menu or dialogs are in English. (I could be wrong. You can double check.)

- If you buy it in Chinatown, I think you can request them to install Chinese Windows.

- If you buy it online from the factory website.... I am sure there are some way to make the language request. If the option is not on website, you can call custom service. Well... They may ask you to upgrade to Ultimate.

1. In general, the U.S.

At the very least - if both are the same value, Canada will be still more expensive due to sale tax.

2. They are pretty much the same - however, it seems that people are generally happy more with Dell for its service.

3. The issue is Home Premium does not come with language pack (but Ultimate has). So you will have to buy the pack in order to change it.

It is simply the issue on the design of Windows - not due to the place of purchase.
