1. 這不屬植物和動物，只是禮品(souvenir)，包於盒中，放進行李箱便可，不需申報。
2. 鞋子乃個人衣物，毋須申報。
3. 墨爾本 Tullemarine 機場海關有華裔職員，不過多是講普通話。

Better ask the Australia Embassy, they have enquiry hotline. ( check it from Internet or ask it from telephone hotline).

If your shoes do not have been polluted with soils, probably ok.

I do not think Interpretation would be available by the custom, so busy. Try talk slowly, tell them and declare everything honesty, it would be ok. If they have query, they would search more detail on your luggage. I have seen many Mainlanders had been searched almost every inches on their luggage, pockets of pants, x-rayed the shoes......you know why la......!!!!
Dont blame the custom,,,,blame these people who stained the reputation of Asian!
