我想問去到像日本、韓國的地方,如果問人"你憧英語嗎?"
是不是"Can you speak English?"呀?這樣可以嗎?但我覺得有點怪...@

Hi there,

Question 1. 'Do you speak English?' is more polite as it asks for a fact but not ability. When you ask, 'Can you speak English,' the question is about the person's abiltiy, whether or not the person 'can' speak English. I think using 'do' is more polite.

Question 2: Could you tell me .......... is more polite than
Can you telll me..............

'Can you speak English?' is grammatically correct, but it is not very polite. "Could you speak English?' is better.

As the same case, using 'could' is more polite.
