3 years ago, Mrs. Wong's age was 11 times her son's age. This year, Mrs. Wong's ageis 6 times her son's age. Find Mrs. Wong's age this year.


Let y be Mrs. Wong's age this year.
Then, age of her son this year = y/6

3 years ago:
(y - 3) = 11[(y/6) - 3]
6(y - 3) = 66[(y/6) - 3]
6y - 18 = 11y - 198
5y = 180
y = 36

Mrs. Wong's age this year is 36.

Let the current (now) age of Mrs.Wong be x;

then, her son`s current age is (x-3)/11+3 or x/6;

x/6 = (x-3)/11+3
x = 36

so,the current age of Mr.wong is 36 years old.
