College Soccer Tryouts?

Do college soccer teams offer open tryouts, if so would I be able to tryout for them even though I'm still in high school. I am in my senior year, and I figured that even if im not actually in college, if I was to take a couple college classes would I be eligible to play? Im trying to go pro, and I keep getting told that playing soccer in college is the best way to get noticed by professional soccer teams, even my high school coach feels im good enough go pro. The thing is my school doesn't offer CIF sports and the only teams we play are like 4 other teams in our district, so its really hard to get a even a college team to notice me. And Finally do colleges accept sort of letters of recommendation for athletes, because my coach was willing to write me one to help me out?

Almost every college team holds open tryouts where walk-ons (the term for people not recruited for the team) can show their stuff. Taking college classes makes you eligible to play assuming your 4 years of eligibility aren't up! And coaches are always open to letters of recommendation and resumes from prospective players, so go for it! Good luck :)

Not specifically trials but they hold camps where you live there for a week or how ever long. Its not trials but from here they basically scout out potential players. Officially these camps are set up to improve players over the summer months but they are really just trials. Your other option which is quite popular is to mail the colleges a video of you playing and stuff like that. But to answer your question, No they dont just hold open try outs like a club or high school would, atleast most universities wont (there may be some abstract ones out there)

Most colleges have soccer tryout, just go to their athletic website (almost any colleges that play sport have one), find the number or email and ask the coach directly. Two years ago, when I showed up to my college tryout, there were like 10 people showed up, and the coach didn't even think twice, he took all of us without seeing us play...But you do have to be competitive and ready for the tryout, because you dont know how good the other players would be
