The majority of King’s residences are in central London, and most are close to King’s teaching campuses. All are within the London Travel Zones 1 and 2.

King’s residences include:

Catered or self-catered halls of residence

Apartments: self-catering for four to nine students; each room with en-suite shower and WC

Liberty Living: self-catering single studios; each room with en-suite shower and WC and kitchen facilities

Intercollegiate accommodation: all full-time King’s students can also apply for a place in one of the seven University of London Intercollegiate halls, which offer a valuable opportunity to mix with students from other colleges.

All King’s residences are non-smoking and provide CCTV, security, swipe card access and laundry facilities. Some provide bed linen. A limited number of places may be available in single sex accommodation.

Accommodation for couples

The College has limited accommodation for couples, ranging from double rooms (some with en-suite facilities) in a residence or student house, to a small self-contained flat at one of the larger residences. Couples may also apply to Lillian Penson Hall. Only one of the couple needs to be a King's student. See the accommodation services website for more information.
Accommodation for families with children

King's has no accommodation for families with children. However, the University of London Head Lease scheme offers some suitable property (see privately rented accommodation). Students are strongly advised not to bring dependants with them to London until they have found somewhere suitable for them to live.

*Undergraduate applicants*

All full-time undergraduate students who are entering King’s College London for the first time on a programme of two or more year’s duration, are guaranteed the offer of one year (not necessarily their first) in either a College, Liberty or Intercollegiate residence.
Applicants with a home address inside the M25 ring road may apply but will have lower priority and are less likely to be considered for accommodation until after the start of session. If we are able to consider applicants in this category, priority will be given to applications received before the 30 June closing date and according to home address/travel zone/distance from the College. Applicants within London travel zones 1-4 are unlikely to be considered prior to the start of the mid-session waiting list.

*Postgraduate applicants*

Full-time postgraduates who have firmly accepted a conditional (CF) or unconditional (UF) offer of a place to study at King’s College London are welcome to apply for College accommodation.
The demand for postgraduate accommodation is high relative to availability, and priority for places is given to overseas applicants who are entering the College for the first time on a programme of at least one year, who have not lived or studied in the UK before.
Candidates with a permanent home address in the UK and those who have previously studied in London may apply for accommodation, although those applications may only be considered if any late vacancies occur within the graduate quota. It is anticipated that many students within this category will need to find accommodation in the private rented sector.

*International applicants*

New international undergraduates who have firmly accepted a conditional or unconditional offer with King’s College London should expect to receive an offer of accommodation for their first year; providing they will be enrolled on a full-time programme of two or more year’s duration and apply before the closing date.
New international graduates who have firmly accepted a conditional or unconditional offer with the College should also expect to receive an offer of accommodation for their first year; providing they will be enrolled on a full-time programme of at least one year’s duration, have not lived or studied in the UK before and apply before the closing date.

*How to apply*

You can apply for accommodation via the My Digs Online Application Facility or alternatively download a paper copy of the application form (pdf, 155 KB). Please note that the paper form attached is for the Mid sessional Application Form and the 2011-12 form is not yet available.
Before completing the application, please read the My Accommodation (pdf, 1.9MB) brochure carefully for information on the application procedure and allocations policy.
In order to access the online application, you will need to enter the username and password provided by your School Office at King’s. These login details will be provided within the offer letter confirming your place of study at the College.
