Sending a postcard from china?

Hi,
So another question about China...
If I want to send a postcard to a friend who lives in England from China, how should I address it? In English? Should I work out how to write 'England' in chinese characters? Or will those working at the post office understand it's English?
Thanks x

By the way, I'm not actually any good at Chinese. And I mean more of the address rather than the content

I live in the US so it might be a little different. My wife lives in China and she sends me cards and mail sometimes for the surprise of it, I do her the same way. She told me the most important thing is to put USA on the bottom of my address, this is all in English. I was told the same thing here when mailing her post, put China on the bottom of her address. The Chinese Post must be pretty good at directing mail to where it goes. All my writing on the envelopes is in English and all my mail gets to her. My address is in English when she writes to me but there is some Chinese writing on the outside of the envelope, not in the address section but on the edges of the envelope. I hope this helps but if you are still concerned, go to the nearest Chinese Post and ask them. I have found these postal services to be very helpful where I go to in China.

2.Hi, Sophie! I’m Jennifer, a professional Chinese teacher from Beijing.
When you sent a postcard to English countries, the address of the receiver must be written in English, since you must make sure that the Post Office there is clear about where the postcard is going to be first and then they can send it to the right person. You can also write your address from China in Chinese and write some special Chinese words on it.
Hope it helps.

China Post only needs to know what country it is going to. China Post will put your post card on a plane to England and the Royal Mail makes the actual delivery. Your address needs to be in English, so the Royal Mail can read it. The country name (England) at the bottom of the address field should be in BOTH English and Chinese.

Do the first sentence or two in Chinese and then break it down to English.
