How to survive in Hong Kong?

I graduated from college in the states last year and moved back to Hong Kong 4 months ago. Hong Kong is my hometown actually. But the problem is I'm still not used to my life in HK. Here probably are the reasons :

When I lived in the states, I hung out with Americans 24/7 which means I blended in very well. Even alot of people thought I was American instead of a foreigner. I had many friends and I loved the activities such as partying, driving to friends' places, road tripping....I just love the whole western life. I know HK is an international city so it shouldn't be hard to meet westerners. Yes I met lots of people from America and Europe, I've been hanging out with them. But the thing is most of them have left HK or are going to leave soon because they're usually exchange students or temporary workers. Some people have told me that I need to make friends with local HK people if I want long term friendships. I tried but HK people don't seem to have alot in common with me.

Now I feel lonely actually. I don't know what to do.
更新1:

HK allows youtube, facebook and everything. It's NOT the same as China. I'm still keeping in touch with my friends in the states through those media.

The immigration officer won't verify the quantity of money which you have. you in common terms would desire to declare it in case you deliver in extra advantageous than USD 10,000. regardless of the undeniable fact that, HK would be very much less costly or very high priced (noodles from the streets for USD a million.20 to eating places on Midlevels for USD 25 per head) per you. you are able to stay in Chungking Mansions for next to no longer something or pay USD one thousand for a set interior the Peninsula.

Since I live in Hong Kong (but Hong Kong's not my hometown, actually)
I really think (local) Hong Kong people are "lack-of-friendliness"
Since you're from America, maybe your Cantonese is not good enough?? (I'm just guessing)
Hong Kong people sometimes discriminate people who doesn't speak Chinese well
Many of my teachers are from Canada or the states and they really can't understand and speak Cantonese well, and my classmates laughed at them...
Maybe you can try to blend with those Hong Kong people and learn from their habits??
Or learn the fashion of Hong Kong peope?? ((But don't try to copy all of their habits and clothing)
(Keep your style :) )
I'm not from Hong Kong but I get well with my classmates too
maybe i spoke Cantonese fluently?? or they treat me like local Hong Kong people~
Even an foreigner (like me), can get well with Hong Kong people
You can definitely be great friends with them... Go go go!!! 加油 :)))
Perhaps I can be your friend???
