Will Derek Jeter Retire Next Year?
Just think about it. This year hes probably going to get that 3,000th hit when he comes off the DL. Hes broken many Yankee records. And hes getting old. Does anyone agree with me. If you dont tell me why

no he will play out his contract.
He's under contract for 2012 and 2013 with an option for 2014.
No, the money-grubbing @ss isn't going to give up free money. Look for him to fake many more injuries next year.
If Ivan gets around the comparable AB's as final twelve months he has a great gamble in 2011 i individually think of Ichiro can do it!! an everyday of 189 hits over the subsequent 4 seasons could get him there. it can be a great accomplishment pondering his first MLB game became at 27
He will make $16 million next year and $17 million in 2013 no matter how he plays so no he will not retire. Maybe in 2014 because he will "only" be making $8 million and the Yanks have a $3 million buy out. Unless his numbers improve dramatically by then he will be forced into retirement in 2014. There are $16 million reasons he will not retire after this season even though he is obviously declining.
No because he has a contract for next year.
I think he'll stay through the end of his contract, but I don't see him extending this contract or getting a new one.
I think that he will if the Yankees don't go anywhere. Posada is going to retire for sure this year. He's doing horrible. But if the Yankees do well, Jeter will play out his contract. If they don't go anywhere in the playoffs, then maybe he will retire.
I think he will play out his contract and at that point, he will have passed several hitters who hit more than 3,000 hits are sitting in the Hall of Fame. If the Yankees win another World Series within the next 3 years, then I can see him walking away ala John Elway. Leaving as a Champion.
