How is it like for women getting examined by a male doctor?

it should never be an issue, no male Dr will do a female examination without the conscent of the patient and you don't have to get naked in front of him, just expose the area where you have a problem be in a Gynogolical one or a breast issue.

Nearly all male Drs have a female Dr Colleague you should never have to be seen by a male Dr if you don't want to, always ask for a female one if you are at all concerned.

ive had a male doctor examine my breast for breast cancer, at first it was kind of awkward but like what the other girls (above) mentioned, a doctor is a doctor, regardless of their gender. they know their stuff....but either way its okay to feel a little nervous wen getting checked...best of luck :D

I'm pretty comfortable with my body. Personally I feel like it takes more effort to get all worked up and embarrassed. I have to purposely focus my attention on feeling uncomfortable, and acting shy. Which is dumb cause then everything just takes more time. Instead of wasting time screwing around draggin' it out, while try to cover myself up or whateve, just shrug it off.
I just shove the whole body conscious thing in the back of my mind. If you don't like what you see don't look. For doctors, they see naked people all day long. They stared at them in books in school, they practiced on dead people in med school; they've stared & sliced & diced to get to know every inch of human anatomy. Add in their internship where they did all manner of disgusting menial tasks and by the time you roll around to them giving you a physical or being a gynecologist.......they've already seen most of what there is to see. I'm certain they've seen worse than me.
As a woman its always in the corner of my mind that while its highly unlikely, there are doctors that are rapist-ish. I don't think it happens very often, but it has happened to women before where they were assaulted by doctors. Obviously a doctor that thinks you're hot & asks you out or something is also unethical, but much less awful. I've not had a doctor seem like either of those things were on his or her mind at all. I expect them to conduct themselves in a professional manner if the latter is the case and I keep my eyes open for the former. Anything at all makes me uncomfortable or tips me off to something odd.....well, I'd rather dash out of the exam room naked & be momentarily embarassed in front of other people than be raped. Again, that's not happened to me & I don't expect it too, but part of being a grown women is watching your back. It's like looking both ways before crossing the street. No one really expects to be hit by a car, yet we're still cautious about it.

The thing about being naked that bugs the most is I think that it does make you feel more vulnerable, and thus more easily intimidated. It's that much more difficult to be assertive when you're naked, regardless of the gender of the doctor. Which is why doctors are supposed to be taught to some degree how to have a warm bedside manner. Ideally its part of their job to make patients feel as comfortable as possible.
Generally I'm slightly more comfortable with female doctors than male, but it really doesn't make that big of a difference to me. I think personality & demeanor of the doctor is more important. Like if I get the creepy old guy doctor who looks so old he might have crawled out of a Crypt, or a bitchy judgmental female doctor...... versus someone with a kind face & gentle air about them that explains everything as we go.

I'm a female and I feel more comfortable with a male than a female. It's nothing different with your clothes on or off. A doctor is professional and nothing should make you feel uncomfortable, he's only there to help.

How would you feel getting naked in front of a lady doctor? I wouldn't do it, they don't know what they're doing.
