I will go to Montreal, Canada in this summer holiday for one month (July - August).
Which way is better to go to Montreal?
1. Get off in Vancouver or Toronto and ride the greyhound
2. Get off in Vancouver or Toronto and take the train
3. Get off in London or Paris and ride the plane to Montreal
Anyone know about some cheaper air ticket to these places (Vancouver/Toronoto/London/Paris)?
Also, which hotel/motel should I stay in Montreal? I do not want to spend too much there as I will travel alone.

1. Why not Air Canada (making connection at Toronto)?The actual final destination for Air Canada flight from Hong Kong to Toronto is in fact Montreal (The route is HKG>YYZ>YUL).
You simply have to clear customs and immigration at Toronto.
2. In this case, you may check with travel agencies and agents. Somehow they may be able to find cheap arrangement for you.

fly dirrectly from HK to Montreal. take Canada airline lar.save all the headache from transfer. spend few hundred bulks is worth it.
since you have no car, you have to take transit. there are a hotel on otherside of river name _ sherman inn is ok, not so experience because you need to ride subway to downtown. the price is about $110 CAD a night.
also, be careful if you travel alone, Montreal have a lot of druggy and homeless people. and at night, lot of youth like to drinking & hang out on street too.
personally, i do not like the city of Montreal.
