An oil-filled radiator contains 8kg of oil circulating slowly through the heating element near the bottom. When the electrical power consumed is 800w , the maximum temperature difference of the oil inside the heater remains constant at10*c .the specific heat capacity of the oil is 2000J kg*(-1)c*(-1)
Question:
a)when the oil circulates once through the heating element .How much energy is released to the surroundings?
b) the manufracturer claims that the radiator is 100% efficient .Do you agree?
c)how much internal energy is produced by the heater each second?
d) how long does it take for the oil to circulate once through the heaing element?

thx~

✔ 最佳答案
(a) Snce there is a constant temperature difference between the oil and the surroundings, the heat released= 8 x 2000 x 20 J = 320 000 J
(b) No. Heat has to be used in heating up the radiator itself.
(c) Since the heater is 800 w, energy produced in 1 second = 800 J

(d) Time taken = 320 000/800 s = 400 s

sorry, I have misread the temperature difference as 20'C instead of 10'C. Just put in the correct value and you will get the answers.
