paid area =在地鐵，過了閘以後就是paid areaI think it is because you already paid before you enter the paid area.(用八達通嘟左都算)

participle 做adjective 有兩種
present participle: 表示主動/進行的意思
past participle: 表示被動/完成的意思
如果你說paying area, 那麼就是說 "The area which pays / is paying for something" <--這不是太過搞笑了嗎? XD
事實上是 "The area which you have paid for entering"
中文叫做已收費區
