i need help with password protecting my internet router?

as i remember
1) enter「192.168.1.1」in the URL bar. if it is the first use, the user name and password should be the same-> admin
2) complete the quick setup
maybe a reboot of router is needed
3) Wireless -> Wireless Security -> choose 「WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK」
version : automatic
encryption: AES
PSK Password: (set your password here)

Yeung is pretty right. Best to do this with a wired connection to the router, as if you do it on wifi you lose connection as soon as you set the password. Then remove the wire and connect via wifi, you will have to put the password into your computer at first log-in ( you did remember to make a note didn't you?)
