Josh Turner's accent?

His accent is pretty strong. Where is that accent from? He sounds like British sometimes. I thought he was from South Carolina? I've been there a few times, and I didn't notice people there with such accent.

He is from South Carolina. I watched the video from Scotty McCreery's Homecoming where he performed with Josh Turner. In that video, Josh did say he was from SC. Love him and Scotty both and love their Carolina accents!
