in many laboratories, plastic stoppers are used for bottles containing NaOH sol. Explain why a plastic stopper is preferred to a glass stopper

When storing NaOH in glass bottle , you should not use glass stopper , as they can get stuck . Since glass contacts NaOH , sodium slicate will be formed ,it is not a serious problem unless you are doing some highly specific work , where traces of silicate contaimination are determined to your result .
