What do you say when people make rude comments about your dog?!?

I ignore them.

I have a Chinese Crested.. I've gotton plenty of rude comments. I find that the people who make such comments are ussually rather ignorant. Or you get the ones who tell me my dog is ugly- and they themselves arent exactly a peice of eye candy!

Wow, I'm shocked that people are that rude. I wouldn't even say anything. You don't want to stoop to their rudeness and if you just ignore it it will make them feel silly for even asking or saying anything in the first place.

If you must say something.. look them straight in the eyes, and say "we don't feel that way" and then continue the conversation. You'd be surprised how quickly people shut up when they realize you don't hold the same opinion as them.

I would say "She isn't dumb, AND she has manners". Because these people obviously don't have manners themselves.

As for the Rottweiler, I would say, "Yeah, well, don't make me sic him on you" then I'd laugh and change the subject.

I have 13 dogs and people are always telling me I should get rid of some of them. They say the dogs cost me too much money. But I love them all, each has his/her own personality. They are all rescues. I tell people, "Hey as long as I'm not asking you to clean up after them, pay their vet bills, etc.....don't worry about it."

As far as the Rottweiler being large enough to hurt your daughter...he's also large enough to protect her.

Tell them that a child can run into the street and be killed,or hit their head on something and be killed. And how many kids die at the hands of their own parents every day? A lot more than die from dog attacks.Tell them to mind their own business and worry about their own kids and dogs. Rotts are sweet dogs and ANY dog can bite,even Golden Retrievers! My neighbor's pit bull mix is much more calm,stable and sweet-natured than even my own dogs or my other neighbor's Labrador,and my dogs and the Lab are nice dogs! Some people are just stupid about dogs and stereotype every breed that has been known to be aggressive. A child is more likely to be bitten by a Chihuahua than a Rottweiler.

Id say they are stupid for wasting their time talking about. Something they don't even know. I also have the same thing happen when I have my pitbull at the park but in reality labradors and other supposidly smart gentle dogs have been imbred and put on the agressive dogs list

just ignore them. that is really the best you can do. or tell them to mind their own business. every one thinks they know better. rottweilers are great dogs, loyal and very sweet. and shih tzus are great dogs.

i tell them, they are just insecured and jealous,
we have better dogs than them.

I would say of Rottie, in response to "vicious dog" comments: "You're mistaken. She's a gentle as a lamb and adores my child!" I would ignore the "dumb dog" remarks because what that person was really saying is that he or she didn't know anything about training a dog. Okay, maybe I'd say, "He seems pretty smart to me" and leave it at that.

we've 6 canines of four distinctive breeds. Border Collies French Mastiffs Bloodhound English Bulldog all of them are ok socialized & have been around the horses their total lives, yet they have been taught the thank you to be around the horses, being stored on a leash so as that they could be controlled & reprimanded for undesirable behaviors. All however the English Bulldog connect us on the barn each and each time we bypass down there, no leashes are needed now, for sure. The Bulldog has desperate he could purely as quickly not situation approximately it, so he lays on the porch & waits. yet, he's starting to be older additionally, so..... besides, some canines purely are not meant to be around livestock. I remember grandad shooting 2 German Shepherds whilst i grew to become into youthful using fact they could chase the horses or livestock in the pastures. They have been the neighbor's canines & have been constantly getting out. Why they chased the livestock is previous me, they have been raised with livestock & horses. some canines get the habit using fact the horses, livestock, sheep, although run from them & it turns right into a pastime, yet whilst livestock is administered down or run by using fences then some thing should be finished. We constantly had border collies starting to be up, dad raised them & they have been used on the ranch, yet even those could desire to be properly socialized or they could get guardy in the direction of strangers. Any canines can get that way if not uncovered to sufficient distinctive human beings & distinctive circumstances in many situations. I trust you approximately Jack Russels & rat terriers,yet i'm not prepared on those breeds besides. uncertain a corgi could artwork the two. they're lovable, yet small & some horses could desire to in comparison to a minimum of a few thing that small wandering around by using their legs & the canines could get stepped on or maybe kicked. i assume what i'm attempting to assert is, ANY breed of canines desires to be appropriate experienced & socialized & not in basic terms left to runs unfastened the place there are human beings & different animals till you have experienced the canines to pay attention & coach it the thank you to be around the different animals & each and all of the a number of human beings it fairly is going to come into touch with.
