how to set excel function ?

I have budget and actual figures every month for 12 months and I want to hide all budget columns to see the acutal figures columns only, I know there is a function in excel to do this, I have seen there is a plus (+) and (-) sign on top of the worksheet but I dont know how to set it, can anyone tell me how to do it? thanks

I use Excel 2007

Either 「sub-total」 or 「pivot table」 may help you about this.
