Help sudden smelly poop!!!?

I have a 4 year old male cat and always fed him wellness healthy diet dry cat food. It's been almost 2 weeks I decided to change his food to natural Balance Reduced calorie formula. Since then his stool smells awful, and it never had with the wellness brand. He is strictly an indoor cat and I'm thinking changing his food was a bad idea....will the smell go away? What does it mean?

It wont go away. Im guessing you changed is food because the new kind is better? In that case you have to use a better kind of Litter. Fresh Step® all the way! My cat has always had her separate room so I couldnt tell if her litterbox smelt bad or not, but now her room's under construction and she moved to my room with her food and litterbox. No smell whatsoever! Fresh Step® is GENIUS! If not, switch back to the old food! :) Hope this helped!

Check the ingredients on the label. A lot of foods with fish in it can cause the poop to reek. If you're giving any milk products that can have the same effect.
It's easy enough to check if it's the food--put him back on the Wellness and see if the smell goes away inside of a week.

Different foods make your cats poop smell different. It won't go away unfortunitaly, all you can do is make sure he buries his poop really well and try some arm & hammer kitty litter deoderizer. It's a small box of white powder you pour onto of the cat litter and mix in, works really well!
