How do you know if your boss wants to fire you?

I messed up at work and made a customer really upset:( my boss spoke to me about it n has been kinda short with me since...how can I deal with this situation? I make really good $ and cant lose this job!!

You could ask him, but I personally would just stay out of his way and resolve to impress him and others with my competence and customer satisfaction going forward.
