杧果（學名：Mangifera）俗稱芒果，臺灣話/閩南語稱檨仔（白話字：Sōaiⁿ-á）。原產自北印度和馬來半島，性喜高溫、乾燥的天氣,營養生長期（根、莖、葉）最適合溫度為24－30℃，氣溫降到18℃以下時生長緩慢，10℃以下停止生長，生殖生長期（花、果）需較高溫度，以排水良好且含腐植質的砂質土壤最適宜，pH值5.5－7.5為佳。後引種改良，已遍及多個地方，其中十大芒果生產國家，以產量排名如下：印度、墨西哥、巴基斯坦、泰國、中國、印尼、菲律賓、海地、剛果。芒果為漆樹科常綠喬木，植株通常高達15至18米，樹齡長，葉聚生枝頂，革質，長圓形，長披針形，圓錐花序生枝頂，下位花，淡黃色，麗蠅是其最重要的授粉昆蟲，花謝後結核果。果實大，歪卵形，微壓扁，長可達20厘米。成熟果黃色，果肉嫩，香甜。芒果因具有速生、早產、高產,果實風味獨特、營養豐富，經濟效益高等特點，使得芒果生產不斷得到發展。目前已成為繼葡萄、柑橙、香蕉、蘋果之後的世界第五大水果。
台灣芒果品種 在台灣常見的芒果品種，有三大類：

開滿花的芒果樹部分人對芒果有過敏性，尤其是果皮附近0.5cm處的果肉。多數是在使用芒果的時候皮膚接觸到芒果的汁液，導致嘴唇紅腫，乾裂，並且會在耳朵，脖子等處也出現紅腫疼痛等癥狀。為避免或減輕過敏癥狀，可以將芒果切成小塊，用牙籤等放入口中，避免芒果汁液接觸表皮。
