Why is my tabby cat so needy?

I have this 5 month old tabby cat and she is extremely needy. Whenever I lay down, she sits on my chest. She is always kneading on me. She always wants to play and when we leave she gives this heartbreaking little meow. I feel bad for her, but I also want her to be independent. We have to older cats in the house, so she can play with those, but the only way she knows how to play is attacking them. My older cat is getting to the point that he is vomiting from the stress. How can I get Willow to be less needy?

Do you really want a cat that doesn't even want to play or get near you? Be happy with your cat. She's a good cat.

Play games with your kitten till she is tired out. You'll be tired out too - bad luck!

Little paper balls, woolly or leather mice on a string or wand, large paper bags, cardboard cartons to hide in, bits of paper dangling from rails or hooks. Old leather glove fingers stuffed with catmint and bits of leather, climbing frames, claw sharpening posts. Some cats like clockwork mice to chase. If all else fails get the vet to prescribe very mild sedatives.

Animals are like humans, they have there own personalities. My cat is needy but you've got to deal with them. When your cat gets older she should want to go outside more and have more alone time. She should learn from the older cats to and maybe you should roll out a ball of wool or some thing (my cat goes crazy over wool) she should play on her own for a while then. Hope this has helped! :)

you just need to put on your seat belt and wait for willow to grow up.......

i have an 8 month named jackie and every day he is getting more independent...........

the only thing i don't like is when he jumps on hondo who is a 14 year old lilac point siamese........he is elderly and has a limp on his left back leg..........

jackie just jumps and give a bear hug and tips hondo over...........he has been with us since december and he is getting to be a " big boy"

i say "kkkkiiiiitttteeennnn????" when he jumps on hondo and he is beginning to walk away when i say that........or i will pick him up and place him somewhere else........

but you have to do the same thing constantly.......

willow will continue to be needy towards you ............until she is ready not to follow up around............

lucky you! i wish my kitty was still like that... now she's a stupid lazy hag. my boy kitty is still like that because i played with him a lot... I was never home for Precious and now she's a crazy.. My parents and brother took care of her though so its not like she was neglected, she just doesnt play anymore.. :(

you could try crate training its normally for dogs but it worked quite well for my cat, Pudge, your cat needs to be taught that attacking isnt how to socialize with other cats. This is drastic but if positive renforcement does not work you can get a spray bottle but i dont recomend this because it can cause fear and even make the aggreasion worse. But a simpler way to make Willow less needy is maybe getting bottles and cutting a small hole in it and filling it up with cat food or treats this will keep her ocupied while you are away. make sure you are spending one on one time with each of your cats so none of them get stressed or feel negleted. hopefully that helped :)
