(b) 1＋ tan^2q＝sec^2q (c) cos^2q/(1＋sin^2q)＋1＝(cos^2q＋1＋sin^2q)/1＋sin^2q＝2/(1＋sin^2q)

(b) 1 + tan^2 θ
= 1 + sin^2 θ / cos^2 θ
= (cos^2 θ + sin^2 θ) / cos^2 θ
= 1 / cos^2 θ

or = sec^2 θ (at higher level)
