Your best bet outside of Elfin Lied would be "RIN ~Daughters of Mnemosyne~" It was dubbed in English a couple years ago and is six-episodes long. It contains quite a few philosophical aspects I got into the philosophical parts myself, but it contains everything you're looking for, just watch the trailer on the link I added below, should give you more of an idea on the storyline.
