This morning I was in the lift waiting for the door to open as it approached the third level of my apartment building. After a few minutes, the lift door still didn't open. I knew it was stuck. I pressed the call button, it didn't work. The light in the lift went out at that very second.
I looked at the clock on my phone. It was half past six. There were not many people around at that time of morning. I dialled the front desk number to see if I could get help from Reception. "I'm stuck in the elevator, the first one on the right. "Oh, okay. I'll call the fire department. Did you try the call button?," the receptionist asked. "Yes, but none of the buttons work." I replied.
An hour later, the lift started moving downwards toward the ground floor. When the door opened, the fire department was there. "Thank you so much," I said gratefully. "Are you okay ?" one of the guys asked. "Yes, I'm okay," I answered. I started toward the stairs this time, even though I knew the lift was fixed, I didn't want to take any more chances.
