How can i update my Xbox 360 ?

to tell you the truth i haven`t done that before and the reason is my console was up to date when i bought it last year but now after a year it can`t load anymore new games and needs to be updated.
but the problem is i have no experience in this case and hope that you help me .
i don`t know how to connect it to the PC and i don`t know if there is a special rule on getting updates or are they free to get and where i can get it from ?
do i need to buy a Xbox live card or what i need is just to connect to the Internet ?
please tell as much as you can and be sure that ill choose the best of answer and will give you the 10 points.

BTW, i don`t have a HDMI cable to connect the console to the monitor , so what should i do now ? i am confused .

u need to connect the internet wire to ure Xbox, not the PC...u just need internet connection and it will automatically show a screen that says "updates are available" so u clik update, u dont need xbox live but make sure ure internet is connected to ure xbox

You need to be connected to the internet to be able to update the Xbox. No, you don't need a Live card; just plug the ethernet cable into your modem and you're good to go. When it connects, a message will appear asking if you want to update.

Any game that needs a console update will include the update on the disc. Or, you can manually update your console by following these steps from Microsoft: http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/how-to/update-xbox-360/system-updates.aspx

Unless your console is modded and that's what is preventing you from updating or running your games, in which case you're on your own.

connect to live if you never had it connect it will take awhile

you can call 1800 4my xbox and ask for one they will mail it to you or do it a easier way and move your xbox temporarily and plug in a ether net cable or take it to a freinds house and do it there
