Your word against hers. And if you took him to the vet since having him and bought supplies for him, etc. then she's SOL. You have solid proof that is YOUR dog. Save text messages, emails, etc. concerning him as well.

Papers mean nothing. I wouldn't even bother with them. But get your proof together, from pictures with dates on them to vet receipts, etc. and make sure he's microchipped and registered in your name, too.

Oh, and get him neutered ASAP. Chances are good she's decided that (even w/out knowing his lineage, history, etc.) the twit has decided to BREED him. If you neuter him, there's a good chance she stops asking!

Dogs do not come with ownership certificates. The closest you can come is a receipt. BUT have you ever heard that possesion is 9/10ths of the law?

Go to the vet and get him shots some thing proving you have taken care of the dog tags, dog license registered in your city. Anything that you can put your name on to prove he is yours? I always get receipts for animals full in detail stating ownership has been transferred.

All you need is proof that you paid her (AKA bank transactions withdrawing the money would suffice) She would have to take you to court and prove that she that you stole it and she didn't give it to you. Which is nearly impossible.

Well, if you have taken him to the vet (which you should have) or registered him with you town/city (you should have) or changed the ownership information on the microchip (which you should have) then you have all the proof you need.

no need for "papers"

all you need is proof that you've paid for vaccinations/vet care, dog licence, etc.. microchop is also proof of ownership

you paid her money for the dog.. its YOUR dog, you are under no obligation to return the dog.

If you have any veterinary care visits that are in your name, then you have a little proof that the dog belongs to you. You also should have a city license that is in your name.

If your friend didn't even get papers when she adopted the dog than that is really serious. Not giving the new owner the papers is a sign that you are not a good breeder and you are not a knowledgable breeder either. Call the breeder ASAP! If you don't have the papers technically the dog isn't either of yours.
