Few questions about UK study

1.Normally we can take how many GCSE subjects?
>>normally, we will take about 9 - 10 GCSE subjects, which will include english, maths, bio, chem and phy (these are always compulsory in high school), some schools may even want their students to study eng. lit. (they will make that complusory too) but this just depends the school you are applying for. For the rest of the subjects, you can choose to study geog, hist, food technology, art, music, drama, languages, graphic design...etc. There will be a list of subjects provided by the school after your have been accepted to the school.

2.What are the differences between GCSE and IGCSE?
>> GCSE are for local students in the UK, the "I" in IGCSE stands for international, this is for students that are outside UK and wish to take GCSE.

3.When should we book the air ticket.
>> after you have been accepted to the school, a term timetable will then be issued to you. You can book the air ticket afterwards according to the term times as stated on that timetable.

4.What airline do you usually take?
>> Students often choose cathay pacific and british airways. They offer student discounts such that you can get cheaper tickets (provided you buy three sets of ticket in one go, this includes journeys in summer, xmas and easter). Some student may wish to buy cheaper tickets without flying for three times in a year, in this case, you can choose NZ and AUS airlines :)

For example, oxbridge requires at least 8A* in your GCSE (if not, 8As are preferred), and applicants often choose to study 5 GCE subjects to secure their offer (but that is not 100% chance to get in)
