How do you pronounce the word: camera?
Do you pronounce it as: cam - ma - ra
or cam - ra ?
Are they both acceptable? Thanks.

It depends on where you're from and what accent you speak with. I say cam-ra. It seems like almost everyone in the northeastern US says it that way.

At least in UK English, as far as I can tell they're both acceptable.
Personally, I say "cam-ra", so presumably it was the pronunciation where I grew up (UK south coast), but I've no opinion on the matter.

I say cam-er-a, but I know many who say cam-ra. 'Acceptable' relates to social class in some instances.

Both are acceptable. Go with whatever the locals say.
