Don't be afraid to ask the interviewer to clarify what they're looking for before you give an answer. For the most part, they'll be impressed if you've used your creativity to solve a problem that saved your previous company money. Unless you're applying for a job as some sort of artist, they probably don't care about your progress on your latest craft project.

Use this question to your advantage by letting it be an opportunity to tell them something you did in your last job that made you a uniquely wonderful employee that they'll feel they just MUST have on their team. For example, you may have figured out a new way of doing something that made everyone's lives easier or you came up with a specialized report that eliminated the need for 3 other reports. Basically, think of some way that you've been innovative during your career in a positive way.

ask for a piece of paper. crumple it up in your hand, twist it, fold it whatever way you want, give it some new shape. then set it on their desk and tell them all the things you think it looks like. figure out how to make something interesting out of paper clips. i don't know how you would express creativity verbally unless they give you a scenario, unless you are a poet, singer, or writer. make up a some new words. creative=create something from your imagination. right?
