First of all, we can compute
P( Either Mr. or Mrs. Luk watch )
= P( Mr. Luk watches ) + P( Mrs. Luk watches ) - P( Both watch )
= 0.7 + 0.35 - 0.5
= 0.55
(a) Req. Prob.
= 2( 0.55 - 0.5 ) / ( 1 - 0.7 )
= 0.1 / 0.3
= 1/3

(b) Required Prob.
= ( 1 - 0.55 ) / ( 1 - 0.35 )
= 0.45 / 0.65
= 9/13
