From Peano's axiom, sequences of numbers are defined as 1,2,3,4,....Then, successor of 0 is 1, successor of 1 is 2, ...
And, 0+1=successor of 0, 1+1=successor of 1, ...
Also, 0+2=successor of (successor of 0)=successor of (1)=2.
Therefore, 1+1 is defined as 2 but not 3 or 4.
