不及物動詞後面唔可以有object
正確例如 :
The sun rises.
The sun rises from east.
錯誤例子:
I am going to rise funds.誤配object 就錯左喇

而及物動詞就要跟object
正確例子:
I raise my hand.
It raises problems.
錯誤例子:
The price of oil is raised.無object 就錯左喇

不錯rise與raise的分別就是不及物動詞(v.i.)與及物動詞(v.t.)的分別，所以

The sun rises in the east.(不用受詞）
而
She raised a hand in greeting.（用受詞）



但The price of oil is raised.就沒有錯，因為這句是被動語氣(passive voice)，若寫成主動語氣(active voice)，可以寫成

Someone raise the price of oil.可見raise的接受者是the price of oil.
正如，英文聖經New American Standard bible哥林多前書１５章１３節，就有以下說法：

But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised;

而ＣＢＣ news也有一段新聞，其中也有一句
