拜托，請教關於回鄉証的問題。

非中國藉居民不能申領回鄉證，因回鄉證只是發給中國藉香港居民(永久和非永久)的回國証件，外藉的香港居民只能用本國護照申請簽證進入中國。


可瀏覽下列中旅社對非中國藉香港居民領回鄉證的規定：

" 持外國護照來港定居者，須交驗本人的香港永久性居民身份證和有效的香港特區護照或恢復（加入）中國國籍的證明書及首次抵港之證件。
此類申請按規定視情況即時受理或通過我司送函發證機關審批後方能辦理（遞函費用為150港元，其中香港身份證與香港特區護照資料頁須合併用一紙影印）。"

Not sure if this applies to HK, but I was from Macau. Whether you can get Home Return permit or not depending on many other facts.

My elder son has "Home Return Permit". He was born while my green card was still applying. I was on H1-B and my wife is US citizen. My son was born as US citizen, but he is a Macau S.A.R Chinese citizen as well. As H1B counts as temporary stay on US. That's why my elder son has the "Home Return Permit".... In fact, he is going to China with US passport and VISA (as the permit expires way too often than my trips.)

My younger son was born after I turned to US citizen. In this case, he will not be able to get the "Home Return Permit". As far as I know, he will not get a Macau ID too.

Since you have HK ID, there are chance that you are already a dual citizen of China and US. You just don't have the documents to prove yourself. So you should go to check with the HK government departments.

當初你是用甚麼證件進入香港的呢？若果是美國護照的話，那你只是美國國籍，沒有中國國籍。其實你只要嘗試申請特區護照就知道是否擁有中國國籍。
除非你願意放棄美國國籍而歸化中國國籍，這樣你就可以申請回鄉證，否則就只能以外國人身份去申請大陸簽證，這個你要自己去衡量了。
