Walking Holiday In Scotland?

Looking for information on doing a hiking tour for about a week in Scotland. I've read about the West Highland Way trail, etc. Whens the best time (weather), bug situation, places to say, etc. And information or experience would be great. Thanks

Here's a good journey from National Geographic.

I often find the best weather in Scotland is May, well it's been May for the last couple of years, Midges will not be that bad in May aswell, but be warned... "Ne'er cast a cloot till May is oot" :P

purely tie a pair of steaks round ur little ones neck that way u dont might want to problem some babysitter anymore and u wont might want to feed the mountain lion for a pair of days. yet on a extreme word they could really coach demonstrate screen people until eventually now their allowed to have little ones.

May or September are the most bug free months. Before May or after September the Scottish weather wouldn't be suitable for your hike. You need Ordnance Survey Landranger maps covering the area of the trail. Good walked in ultra comfortable hiking boots. Light clothing for all weathers etc

Crikey! You want jam on it, don't you. There are midges about from April/May onwards. The best weather is often in either May or September. Stay in youth hostels or if you visit the Northern Isles in Boads which is like indorr camping.
