I am an avid advocate for animal rights, so much to the point that I have almost become a misanthrope. I easily cry at a documentary about abused animals, but not for one about oppressed children in Africa.
I believe animals are far more important than humans, and that we have become way to destructive and abusive.
If there was a burning building and there was a box of puppies and a man trapped inside in the same place, I would rather save the puppies.
Would you think that it is wrong to have this mindset?
Is it wrong to care more for animals than for other people?

I think it's easier to feel more passionate about animals than humans. Mostly they are helpless, innocent, and trusting. I don't think it's wrong at all but if you stop caring for humans all together you may have a problem. Just balance your caring, im sure there is enough to go around :)

I think you should care about animals and humans the same. Animals can also be destructive and abusive. They kill, rape, and even commit genocide. So, just like humans, they aren't totally innocent. Humans are animals too after all.

I'm sorry, but as great as puppies are - they don't go to work and earn a living for their family. They don't provide guidance and support that only a husband, father, son, friend all do.

its totally wrong and unethical to care animals more than humans, humans have soul. Animals? dont really have

No i dont think it is! I suffered with depression a few years ago & i grew close to my cat as he was rather discrutctive but ive got him to calm down etc-he's now alot closer to me & relies on me..its sad but he's my best friend ( after my husband of course:D )
WE have 2 bunnies & 2 guinea pigs..my husband always mentions they get spoilt & looked after better haha! Animals & there relaxing ways got me over my deppression. Now id ratehr be with my pets than with my friends! People think its sad but im happy this way, animals are my friends-- they are more forgiving than people,dont judge you or say nasty things. They seem to sense when you're sad! Pets are great!!! People should learn-- we are meant to be disendants on monkeys but i think the gene pool some how skiiped somepeople & went to the nasty gene!! lol.

I almost feel the same I care more for animal situations that say child abuse or children in Africa I also think that humans are destructive and we live inna burning world going straight to he'll !
I think it's because ther are governing bodies th help them but animals have minnamle help is society and it seems ok to treat them terribly ??
As for the puppy and the man Im not sure I would ideally give the puppy to the man to hold lol but if he has say killed other humans thee I'd let him burn ....
