Are you pro-gun or anti-gun? Please state your religion.?

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

However, we know this is not the case for many other developed countries. In many other countries, firearms and guns are generally banned and seen as dangerous.

That said, America has the worst violent gun incident records in the whole world.

So are you pro-gun or anti-gun?
Please state your religion too.

Being Scandinavian, where even the police aren't allowed to carry guns except very special occasions, I'm anti-gun. Even though you're less likely to attack someone with a gun (at least in theory), I believe readily avaliable guns breed more gun-related crimes than they prevent them.

Pro gun. As a citizen of the USA I am guaranteed certain rights by our constitution. I am against any of these rights being abridged or revoked by my government for any reason. Governments don't have a positive history on returning rights to the populace once they have been taken away.

Pro-gun.

May want to check your source concerning the gun incident records...... my research showed something else. But a small point and I could be corrected with proof.

Edit:
After reading answers... one of the reasons for my pro-gun position is my being an Eschatologist. If I am raped during any kind of unrest, it will be a corpse they rape with my emptied gun beside me. For a woman, the issue of self protection is very serious. Michelle.

People, criminals will always have guns. I'm for law abiding citizens having guns legally to protect themselves.

Christian

Edit: I like what Michelle said. I agree, but I can't legally have a gun. I don't have a problem with others having them.

I am a Christian (Episcopalian). I am a Democrat. And I am for the right to bear arms, for many reasons. I know to some this might seem like a contradiction, but that is your problem, not mine.

Christian, old school (not the politically correct cowards of the US).
Pro Gun and weapons.

However, the US is not pro-gun, and working very hard to ban them. They are afraid of religions, their followers, and anyone who will stand up to them (the government). The harder they work on banning guns, removing religion, and getting people to worship them, they more powerful they become.

The Soviet Union did the same thing, but the god Mammon crumbled it. The US will too, as most today will sell their children for money, and the government knows this. The military currently follows the Temple of Set, with pedophilia and other abuses, and are unchecked. They wrongly convict thousands daily, and no on cares so long as it is someone else, and not themselves (you, not me). The police are traitors to the US Constitution, and are WORSHIPED as gods themselves, but most whites.

Do you expect to see most christians as anti-gun, due to their inability to stand up to evil or criminals? You are aware, of course, that there are no christian police officers in the US, right? Most laugh at those in church, while they are breaking laws hidden from your eyes. Adultery, fornication, and an almost endless list of crimes are committed every day by police, and are unpunished.

So, what is this to prove? Americans are two-faced? Biased. Cowards? Trouble makers? Imperialists who want to rule over everyone? Come on. Tell us. :)

I'm sadly wishy-washy and stuck in the middle. I COMPLETELY respect peoples' rights to own guns for sport or protection, but I do believe there are some people who should just not own them, due to mental illness or something of that sort.

Anti, darling...I just cannot forget that the first clause of the Second Amendment (the one the NRA always forgets about) is "A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State..." and I don't honestly think that Joe Schmoe with a handgun in his bedside table constitutes a well-regulated militia.

I understand the reasons the founders thought that the Second Amendment was necessary - they didn't have a standing army or police departments, settlements and farms were separated by long distances, and they were afraid of tyranny and tried to balance it and their fear of the mob. None of those conditions prevail today, and if we fear tyranny, we'd be better served by making sure that we have an active and protected free press.

But guns are dangerous...and the legal handgun trade fuels and feeds the illegal handgun trade, making us all less safe. In my opinion, guns should be more thoroughly regulated than cars - and no one screams because they have to register their cars, have them inspected yearly, insure themselves against damage caused while using their cars, be licensed to operate their cars, be a certain age to drive, and have been tested to ensure that they are capable of driving their cars safely.

atheist, very pro gun, because its for self defense and target shooting, but unfortunately, i live in an anti gun society where guns are banned(firearms license is very espensive), because of liberals

Apparently they are afraid to open their mouths on these issues. I am voting for a democrat but I see marriage as between opposite sexes. I believe in the right to own guns. I see abortion as killing a human being.Abortion is the most in humane, cold blooded, selfish, barbaric act of man kind. Some democrats feel this way and many Republicans really do believe in abortion. Roe vs Wade was done by mostly Republican appointed Judges which legalized abortion.
