I came across the following sentence in UE 1999 PP:
bicycles are belong to the road.

I want to know why we can put 'are' in this sentence?'belong' is a verb, therefore we should add 'ed' to it,isn't it?

bicycles are belong to the road.?

錯誤 1. belong to ( 屬於) ==> belong (置於)(+in/on )

Bicycles are belong to on the road.Bicycles belong on the road.

e.g.
The bicyle belongs to Peter.

The chair belongs in the corner.

we cannot put 'are' in this sentence.

e.g.
belong:合適; 適用; 適宜[+at/in]
Jean belongs in the movies.
A napkin belongs at every place setting.

This is a wrong sentence in the proofreading part. The sentence should read:
Bicycles belong to the road. (cross out 'are')

Bicycles are belong to the road. Bicycles are belonged to the road", 因為belong(vi) , 而belong to 也是不及物phr.verb, 沒有passive voice.
