1. Go to the webisite of your DVD burner. Download the lastest firmware and install it. Make sure you get the right one for your model otherwise you might kill the DVD burner. Now try your DVD-rw again. If this fails, read on.

2. You need to full format your DVD-rw before you can write and read the data. This could take up to 1 hours per disc. When successful, only do quick format next time that allows you to overwrite on top of existing data. This only takes a few minutes. There is no need to full format again except when the disc is new. Consult the manual of your DVD burner to install the software that comes with it. Your software will always give you the options to write (burns data to DVD-rw) or format (Full = prepares DVD before writing Data or quick = overwrites existing data on disc) after launching.

3. If it stills fails, try another brand of DVD-rw.
